About the Role:

Mears, a leading housing and care provider, is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to join its Central Business Development Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the submission of high-quality tenders and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and own the creation of winning tender submissions, ensuring they meet all requirements and are well-written and concise.
  • Review new opportunities with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and make informed decisions on bid/no bid opportunities.
  • Proactively manage and lead each tender process, ensuring timely and high-quality submissions.
  • Design, collate, produce, and review final submission documents, including writing and owning sections.
  • Work collaboratively with the bid team to produce high-quality, customer-focused documents.
  • Update and integrate knowledge management within Document Management and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Monitor and report monthly on progress and performance.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in managing bids and writing high-quality statements.
  • Experience in liaising with teams to develop deliverable solutions.
  • Competency in MS Office software.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and maintain a flexible attitude to work tasks and workload.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Project management experience and ideally educated to degree level.
  • Experience within the housing maintenance sector is desirable.
