Key Responsibilities- Lead the Bid Team: Drive and energize the bid team to achieve a successful outcome for each allocated tender, following designated processes and best practices.
- Develop Bid Strategy: Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and Sector Director to develop a coherent bid strategy.
- Evaluate Winning Strategy: Continuously evaluate the winning strategy and direct the team and resources to focus on activities that will enhance the chance of bid success.
- Oversee Tender Commercial Strategy: Oversee and be involved with tender commercial strategy, ensuring that it aligns with the company's goals.
- Manage Tender Programme: Manage the tender programme, ensuring that all necessary internal meetings are arranged and that the bid team is well-coordinated.
- Agree Bid Budget: Agree the bid budget and monitor expenditure with the Head of Management.
- Undertake Corporate Approval Process: Undertake the corporate approval process in conjunction with the Work Winning Director.
- Keep Senior Management Informed: Keep senior management informed of developments on tender and gain acceptance of key decision points.
- Communication Management: Manage communication and interface with joint venture partners and key supply chain.
- Work with Commercial Manager: Work with the commercial manager to understand the route map to deliver margin set within the business plan.
- Arrange Tender Meetings: Arrange and coordinate tender and post-tender meetings/interviews with the Client/Employers Agent.
- Ensure Quality Submission: Ensure that the correct resources for the Quality Submission are in place and that timescales are met.
- Manage Review of Quality Submission: Manage/take part in the review of the Quality Submission.
- Tender Feedback: Tender feedback and dissemination once the result is known.
- Handover to Project Delivery Team: Handover to the project delivery team for successful tenders.
- Extensive Bid Management Experience: Proven experience in bid management, with a strong track record of success.
- Sound Knowledge of UK Construction Market: Sound knowledge of the UK construction market, including commercial awareness of different forms of contract.
- Knowledge of Civil Engineering: Knowledge of civil engineering, including the ability to understand and interpret technical specifications.
- Strong Presentation and Client Communication Skills: Strong presentation and client communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
