As a Waste Service Development Director, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth of our Recycling Division. This exciting opportunity is based from home, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance. Our leading waste operator is seeking an experienced professional to collaborate with both Operations and Bidding Teams to secure new municipal waste service contracts and negotiate extensions to existing ones.

The main purpose of this role is to strategically position the company to secure forthcoming procurement opportunities. You will monitor market trends, identify potential clients, and develop business development strategies to meet our objectives. This includes collaborating with the Bid Team, Senior Bid Managers, Area Managers, and other support departments such as Estates, Planning, Technical, Legal, and Finance.

  • We are looking for a degree-educated professional with at least five years' experience in a senior management role, preferably in a profit centre with a turnover of £25m or more.
  • You should have significant experience working in municipal waste collection, recycling, and treatment services, with a proven track record of delivering business/project development programmes to time, budget, and specification.
  • A competitive salary of approximately £65,000-£80,000 per annum, plus a company car/car allowance and bonus, makes this an attractive opportunity for those who thrive in fast-paced environments.
