Bereavement Support Specialist

We are seeking a Bereavement Support Specialist to join our team at Farleigh Hospice. This role involves providing emotional support to individuals and families who have experienced a loss, helping them navigate the grief process and find ways to cope with their emotions.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering bereavement support services through telephone contact, face-to-face meetings, or group work. Your primary goal will be to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to express their feelings and receive guidance on managing their grief.
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. You should also be comfortable working with diverse populations and possess strong IT skills.
In addition to your passion for supporting others, you will need to be patient, reliable, and understanding. Our ideal candidate is someone who can remain calm under pressure, think critically, and make sound decisions. **Salary:** £25,000 - £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide bereavement support to individuals and families through various formats
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met
• Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive care and support
• Participate in regular supervision sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by management
Requirements:
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field (counselling, social work, etc.)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Strong IT skills and familiarity with relevant software applications
• Passion for supporting individuals and families affected by grief and loss
