Research Associate in Non-linear Waves

The Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position to work on the research project 'Singularities for Waves and Turbulent Flows (SWAT)'.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of new research objectives, proposals, and projects in the area of singularity formation and long-time behaviour for non-linear parabolic or dispersive problems, multisolitons dynamics, and growth of Sobolev norms with applications to weak turbulence or fluid mechanics.
About the Role
Main Duties
- Develop and conduct individual and collaborative research objectives, proposals, and projects
- Plan and manage research and administration with guidance if required
- Assist in the preparation of proposals and applications to external bodies
- Communicate technical material and build internal and external contacts
- Assist in the supervision of student projects and development of student research skills
- Provide instruction or plan/deliver seminars relating to the research area
Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field, a strong research track record, and may have previous postdoctoral experience.
