Job Description

Greenford High School is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our Learning Support Department, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting students with special educational needs to overcome their barriers to learning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of current developments in secondary education, as well as experience of child protection and safeguarding issues. You will be able to motivate pupils through the use of various methods and set appropriate goals and monitor progress.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Working with students to develop strategies to overcome obstacles to their progress
  • Communicating with teachers and other staff to ensure students receive the support they need
  • Monitoring student progress and intervening to assist students in overcoming obstacles to their progress
  • Developing and implementing intervention strategies to support students with special educational needs
  • Providing support to students in the classroom and during lessons
  • Working closely with the SENCO and other staff to ensure students receive the support they need

Requirements

  • Appropriate qualifications and experience for professionals other than teachers
  • Understanding and experience of current developments in secondary education
  • Understanding and experience of child protection and safeguarding issues
  • Ability to motivate pupils through the use of various methods
  • Ability to communicate effectively with teachers and other staff
