Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional SEN Support Worker to join our dedicated team at Greenford High School. As a key member of our Learning Support Department, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting students with special educational needs to overcome their barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the SENCO to develop and implement targeted interventions to support students with special educational needs.
  • Monitor the educational progress of students and intervene to assist them in overcoming obstacles to their progress.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, year teams, and key workers to ensure that students receive the support they need.
  • Assist in the organisation of SEN enrichment activities and contribute to the development of links between the school, home, and the community.
  • Participate in meetings with colleagues and parents to facilitate the proper execution of the postholder's responsibilities.
Requirements
  • Appropriate qualifications and demonstrable relevant experience for professionals other than teachers.
  • Understanding and/or experience of current developments in secondary education.
  • Understanding and experience of child protection and safeguarding issues.
  • Ability to liaise with other teaching staff and work in co-operation with colleagues.
  • Ability to motivate pupils through the use of a variety of methods and the setting of appropriate goals and monitoring of progress.
