Job Overview:
A key role within the James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is available for a HR Generalist Specialist to lead on workforce wellbeing and development initiatives. This involves working closely with senior leaders, operational teams, and clinical departments to develop and implement plans for sustained improvements in employee wellbeing and absence management.

The successful candidate will be joining a small, friendly, and supportive People & Culture Business Partnering Team where a performance-driven, collaborative, and flexible approach to work in a busy acute hospital environment is essential. Our team works flexibly, and the successful candidate will have opportunities for hybrid working but must be able to attend meetings with project stakeholders onsite occasionally.

This is a 1-year Fixed Term full-time role which will report to the Employee Relations Manager, working closely with managers and employees, focusing primarily on the prevention and management of mental health and musculo-skeletal-related sickness absence. The role will involve developing, implementing, and evidence-based plans that align with HR best practice and Just and Learning Culture, engagement with different professional leads and staff-side will support sustained success. Leadership Development and Coaching will be a key focus of the role.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To lead on workforce wellbeing and development initiatives, providing advice and support to leaders and staff on a wide range of HR operational issues, including formal casework, interpreting and applying their knowledge of employment law.
  • Experience leading projects and/or initiatives with a range of stakeholders, ensuring that interventions directly contribute to the organisation's objectives.
  • Working effectively in complex and changing environments, with good understanding of equality and diversity issues.
About the Role:
The salary for this position is approximately £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a HR Generalist Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work in a medium to large organisation, supporting managers in employee relations, and contributing to the development of Human Resources' practice and line manager toolkits.

However, there will be a requirement to attend the hospital site in Gorleston minimum of 2 days a week.
