Overview of Responsibilities
The estimated salary for this role is £32,729 per annum. As a Graduate Experimental Nuclear Physicist at the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy, you will contribute to the successful delivery of services and R&D provided by the RADLab through deployment of nuclear diagnostics to gather and analyse data, and support the maintenance and development of nuclear diagnostics for the realisation of fusion power plants.

This role involves working in accordance with UKAEA policy and undertaking any other reasonable tasks or duties requested by Management.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Suitable candidates should have completed a relevant degree within the past 2 years, demonstrating knowledge in a STEM Discipline.
  • You will be expected to express your ideas clearly through high-quality written reports.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and SharePoint, is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • You must also possess good planning, organising and time management skills.
  • A professional approach to technical activities is crucial.
  • Additionally, you should demonstrate the ability to manage your own development towards building knowledge & skills.
About the Role
In the Applied Radiation Technology group, you will work on a variety of technical tasks designed to provide experience & familiarization with staff, methods, practices, & programs of the organisation. This may include designing, operating, maintaining & demonstrating equipment, developing knowledge and understanding of fusion relevant topics, identifying areas for improvement, and liaising with other teams to build networks.
