The Fusion Technology Researcher role at CCFE offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and contribute to the development of fusion power plants. The salary for this position is approximately £32,729.

As a Fusion Technology Researcher, you will be part of the Applied Radiation Technology (ART) group, which is one of several groups within the Fusion Technology Division. Your primary responsibility will be to contribute to the successful delivery of services and R&D provided by the RADLab through deployment of nuclear diagnostics (gamma or neutron detectors) to gather and analyze data.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new technologies and capabilities to support the commercialisation of fusion.
  • Analyse and verify data using digital, analytical, deterministic, and probabilistic techniques.
  • Upscale activities from micro-scale verification to prototypical-scale qualification.
  • Serve as a service provider to and informed customer for commercial fusion.
  • Recruit and train specialists to satisfy a broad range of fusion stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with other teams and groups to build networks and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of nuclear diagnostics for the realisation of fusion power plants.
