We offer a competitive salary of £83,000 - £99,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including an outstanding defined benefit pension scheme, corporate bonus scheme up to 7%, and a relocation allowance. You will also enjoy flexible working options, including family-friendly policies and the right to request flexible working from the start of your employment.

This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions. As a Principal Physicist, you will perform and lead research into either Exhaust Experiments or Integrated Scenario Modelling in support of the UKAEA scientific programme on MAST-U and other national and international experimental devices.

You will be expected to develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external collaborators, advise senior UKAEA management on strategy in the research field, and represent UKAEA at international meetings. Additionally, you will co-supervise and develop placement and PhD students, and work with a team of senior and junior researchers in an international research environment.
