Job Summary:

To provide a high-quality, efficient, and accurate process for processing prescription requests for registered patients.

To support the prescribing team, pharmacist, and GPs in ensuring that patients' prescription requests and discharge summaries are processed in line with practice protocols.

To ensure that incoming reports to the practice clinical system are allocated and dealt with in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process medication requests from registered patients in line with practice protocols.
  • Liaise with patients and pharmacies regarding queries and requests.
  • Ensure that medication is issued in line with protocols and address any queries raised.
  • Highlight patient queries on medication to the relevant GP.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Technician with blood monitoring and audits processes.
  • Support the pharmacy technician in achieving practice targets in regard to prescribing.
  • Deal with prescriptions that have not been collected and remove details from patient records and destroy the prescription.
  • Action incoming 111 reports as per practice protocol.
  • Perform housekeeping of incoming EMIS message and task inboxes to ensure timely resolution of messages and maintenance of mailboxes.
