Support Worker for Children with Autism and ADHD

A supportive Special Educational Needs teaching assistant is required for a primary school in Northfield/Longbridge, Birmingham. The successful candidate will work closely with the teacher to provide an exceptional education to children with Autism, ADHD, and Speech and Language difficulties.
This SEN teaching assistant role involves supporting the teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons in line with the national curriculum. The school values diversity and believes that it contributes to creating a rich social and cultural environment, similar to that found in Birmingham.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the teacher to design, deliver, and review lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Offer individualized support and encouragement to meet the specific needs of each child or small group.
- Apply a range of specialist strategies and resources to support children with autism, such as visual aids, social stories, and sensory activities.
- Help develop children's communication, social, emotional, and behavioural skills.
- Participate in collaborative work with parents, carers, and other professionals.
This role comes with a salary of around £32,000 per annum.
