Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom AUTISM WEST MIDLANDS Full time

AUTISM WEST MIDLANDS is a leading charity in the West Midlands for autistic adults, children, and families. We use our expertise to enrich the lives of autistic people and those who love and care for them.

The Senior Autism Specialist Key Worker will work as part of a small team to deliver a dynamic service for autistic adults who are at risk of admission to inpatient services or require additional support to assist quicker discharge from inpatient services.

The Keyworker Service provides coordination and direct support to autistic adults with mental health needs. This project uses intensive, direct interventions to support neurodiverse individuals to remain living at home, in the community, preventing avoidable admissions to inpatient mental health services.

Key aspects of the role include providing supervision and support for a small team of Key Workers, representing and leading the Key Worker service, developing systems and processes to collect data and form reports, promoting the service, and networking with health professionals.

We are looking for an experienced individual with strong interpersonal skills, knowledge of autism and mental health challenges, and experience of working with autistic adults with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have a relevant qualification, be able to influence others, and advocate on behalf of the service and the person being supported.

In return, we offer a supportive management team, £34,000 per annum, and a range of benefits including a free DBS check, Bupa Healthcare cash back scheme, and employee assistance scheme.
