About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Child Action Northwest. In this rewarding role, you will work closely with children and young people aged 11-16, providing therapeutic interventions and support within school settings.

The ideal candidate will have experience working therapeutically with children or young people, safeguarding these groups, and completing assessments and outcome monitoring. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or professional to develop their skills in a supportive yet challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate one-to-one and group work with children and young people
  • Work collaboratively with school pastoral teams and occasionally with families
  • Develop and maintain relationships with children, young people, and their families

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, education)
  • Experience working with children or young people in a therapeutic setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and mental health principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
