About the Role

This is a full-time position that offers a permanent contract with our Trust. As a Clinical Support Worker, you will be working as part of a team to deliver high-quality care to patients with respiratory disease. You will have the opportunity to work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses and administrators.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, organisation and delivery of pulmonary rehabilitation assessments, groups and final assessments
  • Support patients through their journey, including providing emotional support and encouragement
  • Take basic clinical observations and conduct fitness testing under the supervision of a physiotherapist
  • Work in a compassionate and respectful manner with patients, their relatives and carers, and staff
  • Conduct cleaning and maintenance of equipment, and comply with health and safety processes
  • Write up clinical notes and enter data into our clinical records system
  • Support the staffing cover and delivery of PR exercise classes as needed

  • Essential Skills:
    • Ability to communicate effectively and adjust communication style to meet the needs of service users
    • Ability to organise self and prioritise work
    • Display flexible attitude to work and the ability to cope with change
    • Ability to carry out patient moving and handling tasks
    • Ability to work alone in the community without direct supervision
  • Essential Personal Qualities:
    • Empathetic and sensitive to the needs of others
    • Able to offer emotional support to patients and relatives
    • Ability to travel to provide assessment and treatment to patients in the community
  • Essential Qualifications:
    • Level 3 Care Certificate or equivalent experience/training
  • Desirable Skills and Qualifications:
    • Experience working in a team
    • Experience using Microsoft Office and other IT applications
    • Experience providing care/therapy to adults
