Position Overview

We are pleased to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Band 5 Clinical Nurse Specialist to become a vital member of our compassionate and patient-centered team at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. We are in search of enthusiastic professionals who possess outstanding communication abilities to assist us in providing safe and effective care to individuals seeking treatment.

Our facility offers a walk-in service catering to a diverse array of minor injuries and health concerns, while also accommodating patients with conditions that may require more intensive care. Previous experience in urgent or emergency nursing is advantageous; however, we are committed to providing the necessary training and development to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge for this role.

The Urgent Treatment Centre serves a broad community, including both local residents and visitors. Our unit operates year-round, ensuring that patients can access care when they need it most. Shifts will be scheduled within our operational hours, which include weekends and public holidays.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Experience in managing minor injuries or emergency care
  • Ability to respond swiftly to urgent medical situations
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities

Desirable

  • Completion of post-registration clinical training relevant to the specialty
  • Intermediate Life Support (ILS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
  • Experience in mentoring or teaching junior staff

Skills and Competencies
