The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust is seeking dedicated professionals to join our team in enhancing the quality of life for patients with chronic respiratory conditions. This role is integral to our ongoing commitment to provide exceptional care and support for individuals experiencing significant respiratory challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive and holistic evaluations, clinical assessments, and the coordination of specialized care interventions aimed at managing respiratory symptoms and chronic respiratory illnesses.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to advance the quality of palliative care for respiratory patients throughout the Morecambe Bay region.
- Engage with hospital and community services to facilitate safe and timely discharges for patients in the advanced stages of respiratory disease, ensuring they receive high-quality palliative care and have the option to choose their preferred care setting.
- Work alongside support staff and other members of the high-risk service to assess, audit, and evaluate the service's effectiveness and impact, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and training to team members and the wider multidisciplinary team, promoting overall enhancements in palliative care for chronic respiratory conditions.

Qualifications and Skills
- Essential Qualifications:
- Nursing degree
- Qualification in Palliative Care
- Recent specialized training or demonstrated competence in Palliative Care or Respiratory Care
- Essential Skills and Experience:
- In-depth knowledge in a relevant specialty
- Proven advanced clinical skills in assessment, examination, and treatment
- Strong clinical reasoning abilities
- Experience in leadership and management
- Exceptional communication skills
- Background in clinical service improvement and audit
- Experience in providing clinical supervision and education
- Personal Attributes:
- Ability to travel independently across the Morecambe Bay area
- Recent clinical experience within the NHS or a UK hospice setting
- Demonstrated enthusiasm and a solid understanding of the role and the high-risk service
