About the Role

We are seeking an experienced geology and geomaterials scientist to join our team at Sandberg, a leading materials consultancy. The successful candidate will be based in our London laboratories and will work on a wide range of materials-related projects, including construction materials, geotechnical investigations, and materials testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Materials Analysis: Conduct microscopical analysis of natural and man-made materials, including rock, stone, slate, aggregate, concrete, render, plaster, and mortar.
  • Investigations and Testing: Investigate and test construction materials to ensure compliance with relevant specifications, and assist with on-site testing and investigations.
  • Client Liaison and Project Management: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and manage projects to deliver high-quality results.
  • Test Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze test data, prepare test reports, and provide technical advice to clients.
  • Mineralogical and Elemental Analysis: Conduct mineralogical and elemental analysis using SEM and XRD techniques.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5 or more years of experience in a similar industry, ideally with a Chartered Geologist qualification.
  • Education: A good degree in Geology or Materials Science, with knowledge of construction materials.
  • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, dynamic work ethic, ability to work professionally as part of a team, and good IT skills.
  • Driving License: Full UK or EU driving license.
