About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Petrographer to join our team at Sandberg, a leading materials consultancy with over 160 years of experience. As a Petrographer, you will play a key role in our laboratory-based work, conducting microscopical analysis of natural and man-made materials, and assisting with on-site testing and investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct microscopical analysis of materials using SEM and XRD
  • Investigate and test construction materials, including natural and man-made materials
  • Assist with on-site testing and investigations
  • Collate and analyse test data, preparing test reports
  • Client liaison and project management
Requirements
  • 5 or more years of experience in a related field
  • Chartered Geologist status (ideally)
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and techniques
  • Full UK or EU driving licence
