We are seeking an experienced Geologist to join our Geomaterials Department at Sandberg, a leading materials consultancy with a rich history dating back over 160 years. The successful candidate will be working with a well-qualified team to assess and advise on a wide range of materials-related issues, including the testing and inspection of construction materials.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct microscopical analysis of natural and man-made materials to determine their composition and properties.
- Investigate and test construction materials, including natural materials such as rock, stone, and aggregate, and man-made materials such as concrete, render, plaster, and mortar.
- Assist with on-site testing and investigations to ensure that materials comply with relevant specifications.
- Collate and analyse test data, preparing detailed reports for clients.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on materials-related issues.
- Develop and maintain close working relationships with colleagues and clients to deliver high-quality results.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar industry, ideally with a Chartered Geologist qualification.
- A good degree in Geology or Materials Science, with knowledge of construction materials.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to write technical reports.
- Dynamic work ethic, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to work professionally as part of a team, with a strong focus on client satisfaction.
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in software used for materials testing and analysis.
- Full UK or EU driving licence.
