Job Title: Resource Geology Operations Specialist

About the Role:

The Resource Geology Operations Specialist is required to provide technical guidance and expertise in developing and implementing best geology and resource practices across all mining operations of ArcelorMittal. This includes ensuring that mine geology, resource definition, and quality control practices adhere to correct standards. The specialist will support operations in conducting or reviewing geological interpretations and associated geostatistical grade estimation, classification, and reporting of resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the development and deployment of Orebody Knowledge and Management (OBK&M) standards and guidelines.
  • Supports governance to standards with respect to effective exploration, resource generation, and Orebody Knowledge programs.
  • Undertakes compliance and technical assurance reviews at each site, ensuring gap analysis and maturity assessments are undertaken, and action plans developed and followed through.
  • Assists and guides business units in mine geology procedures, exploration practice, geological mapping procedures, and the interpretation of geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in geology or geoscience, with a Master's degree in geoscience preferred.
  • Experience in mining and operational geology, resource evaluation, and geological mapping.
  • Technical involvement and experience in resource modelling estimation and reporting, with experience in quality control and data validation protocols.
