CAMHS Teaching Assistant Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a CAMHS Teaching Assistant in Aylesbury. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest in mental health and SEN, or a graduate looking to build on their existing experience.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with students aged 11-19 who have a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Our Alternative Provision school offers a restorative and therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management, engaging children in key and personal skills that they can use in and out of school.
The ideal candidate will have:
- An Undergraduate Degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience, particularly relevant for Criminology and Psychology Graduates.
- Experience working with mental health and Autism, with a focus on understanding the differences between boys and girls.
- Strong general education levels in English and Maths, with at least 5 GCSEs at grade level or above.
- A genuine interest in outside interests such as Sport, Cooking, Coding, Dance, Hair Dressing, and Photography, which can help develop key and personal skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of different learning and behavioural needs, specifically SEMH elements.
We offer a competitive salary scale of £22,000 - £25,000 per year, with a long-term contract and a 5-day week, from 8:30 to 15:30, with an early finish on Fridays.
