About this role

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Milton Keynes CAMHS service, you will work closely with children, young people, and their families to provide comprehensive assessments and interventions.

As a Social Worker with experience in working with vulnerable children and families, you will be responsible for representing the service at key stakeholder meetings and forming close working relationships with various professionals. Your ability to form close working relationships with police, local authority, commissioning, voluntary care sector, and other providers is essential for success in this role.

You will hold a small caseload of complex patients who require short-term support, and your high level of autonomy will enable you to manage your workload effectively while making clinical decisions that prioritize the best interests of the young person.

Job Responsibilities

As a Mental Health Practitioner (Social Worker), you will be working across Milton Keynes CAMHS, providing social work assessment and intervention requiring high-level professional skills to children and young people accessing the service.

You will work closely with the Safeguarding Children Team within Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, providing advice and guidance to the wider Milton Keynes CAMHS team while offering advice, guidance, and consultation to professionals within CAMHS regarding social care eligibility and care pathways.

Actively supporting and monitoring children, young people, and their families for children in an inpatient provision, ensuring a comprehensive package of care post-discharge in conjunction with the nominated lead professional within CAMHS.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a qualified Social Worker with current registration and demonstrable experience post-qualification in a social work setting working with vulnerable children and families.

Apart from the qualifications and experience mentioned above, additional desirable qualifications include an Additional qualification within mental health/CAMHS and Postgraduate training and expertise in at least one therapeutic model CBT, DBT.
