Job Overview

The role of an Mental Health Practitioner - Education Setting is to deliver low-intensity evidence-based interventions for children and young people in educational settings with mild to moderate mental health problems. This position requires the ability to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness among staff groups, assess risk, and record and communicate it appropriately.

About the Role

This position involves working with children and young people who have social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties, as well as those with anxiety and affective disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering specific low-intensity therapeutic interventions, such as CBT and solution-focused brief therapy, and be able to conduct group therapeutic interventions with children and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver low-intensity evidence-based interventions for children and young people in education settings
  • Support and facilitate staff in education settings to identify and manage issues related to mental health and wellbeing
  • Work with and within education environments to afford better access to specialist mental health services
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a postgraduate qualification or degree-level mental health nursing, social work, occupational therapy, or equivalent substantial experience. Registration with a relevant professional body is also essential.

Salary and Benefits

We are offering a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for career development.
