Residential Care Manager Position

About the Job

We are seeking a Registered Manager for one of our Children's Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively managing a team of staff providing care for children & young people in a residential setting.

The ideal candidate will ensure that the care provided is of the highest quality, supporting and encouraging children to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of staff providing care for children & young people
  • Prioritise and allocate work within the team
  • Provide good quality and timely support and supervision for team members
  • Ensure performance review development are carried out
  • Ensure that documentation, record keeping, accounting, and communication is maintained within the team
  • Ensure the health and safety of staff and individuals, and the safety of equipment and operations within the team
  • Manage delegated budgets, to enable support for individual care plans
  • Respond to and ensure appropriate action is taken following internal and external inspections, audits, complaints and investigations
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of the cared for children and young people
  • Encourage appropriate behaviour and manage challenging behaviour both within and outside the home
Requirements

We require:

  • A UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
  • A Level 5 or equivalent in Leadership and Management
  • Recent management of staff experience as a Registered Manager of a Children's Home
  • Detailed knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations and Safeguarding frameworks
  • Experience of working with young people who have experienced adverse childhood events
  • Experience of supporting management of budgets
  • Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service
Salary and Benefits

This role comes with an estimated salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
