Capital Asset Manager Job Description

This is a specialist support role within the capital finance team, responsible for providing expertise in relation to the New Hospital Build and associated capital charges. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge and skills in financial monitoring, accounting, and analysis, as well as experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Fixed Asset Management:
    • Responsible for the update and maintenance of the Trust Asset Register, ensuring accurate reflection of new hospital build and associated changes.
    • Produce annual depreciation values and work with the Management Accounts Team to discuss revenue budgets and phasing.
    • Run monthly depreciation process using the Fixed Asset Module, providing variance reports to the Management Accounts Team.
    • Complete monthly reconciliations between the Fixed Asset Module Software and the Finance Ledger.
  • Finance Lease Management:
    • Review proposed new leases for best value and correct accounting treatment.
    • Input new leases into software to calculate fair value and update the balance sheet.
  • Capital Scheme Monitoring:
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports for new hospital capital schemes.

Person Specification:

  • Knowledge/Previous Experience:
    • Previous experience working within a Finance Function.
    • Able to operate in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
    • Critical evaluation of financial data.
    • Good communication and planning skills.
  • Qualifications:
    • AAT Qualified or studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.

Estimated Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum.
