We are currently seeking a highly skilled Accountancy Support Specialist to join our team at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on various projects related to the management of our capital portfolio, including the implementation of a new multi-million pound hospital in Crewe, Cheshire.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports for new hospital capital schemes, coordinating the quarterly VAT reclaim process for capital programmes, and regularly producing and reviewing purchase order reports charged to Capital Schemes.

The ideal candidate will possess AAT qualifications, experience in financial accounting, and a strong understanding of NHS financial regulations.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fixed Assets and Depreciation:
    • Manage the update and maintenance of the Trust Asset Register.
    • Produce annual depreciation values, discussing appropriate levels of revenue budgets with the Management Accounts Team.
    • Run monthly depreciation processes within the finance ledger.
    • Complete monthly reconciliations for the new hospital spend.
  • Finance Leases and VAT Reclaim:
    • Review proposed new leases to ensure best value and correct accounting treatment.
    • Input new leases into appropriate software to calculate fair value.
    • Ensure accurate split across Finance Lease Creditors, Interest, and VAT.
  • Capital Programme Reporting:
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports for new hospital capital schemes.
    • Coordinate the quarterly VAT reclaim process for capital programmes.
    • Regularly produce and review purchase order reports charged to Capital Schemes.
Education and Qualifications:
  • AAT Qualified.
  • Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
Salary Information:

£28,407 to £34,581 a year, pro rata
