Junior Financial Accountant - New Hospital Programme

The Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Junior Financial Accountant to join their New Hospital Programme in Crewe, Cheshire.

This role offers the opportunity to develop your skills in financial management and contribute to the success of the programme.

About the Role:
  • Fixed Asset Management:
    • Assist in updating and maintaining the Trust Asset Register accurately.
    • Contribute to ensuring timely updates for new hospital build and associated new leases, revaluations, and asset disposals.
    • Support in producing annual depreciation values and discussing revenue budgets and phasing with the Management Accounts Team.
    • Run monthly depreciation process within the finance ledger using the Fixed Asset Module under supervision.
    • Assist in completing monthly reconciliations between the Fixed Asset Module Software and the Finance Ledger.
    • Main contact for audits related to revaluation, asset register, and leases under guidance.
    • Maintain reconciliation of several reserves securely.
    • Support in preparing essential elements of the annual accounts relating to property plant and equipment, intangible assets, impairments, revaluation reserve, and finance leases accurately.
    • Coordinate asset audits professionally.
  • Finance Lease Management:
    • Assist in reviewing proposed new leases related to the new hospital carefully.
    • Input new leases into software to calculate fair value under supervision.
    • Assist in splitting lease invoices across Finance Lease Creditors, Interest, and VAT.
    • Manually calculate depreciation for new finance leases correctly.
  • Capital Scheme Monitoring:
    • Assist in ensuring timely and accurate delivery of reports for new hospital capital schemes meeting deadlines.
    • Transaction adjustments to the ledger according to the monthly reporting timetable efficiently.
About You:
  • You should have prior experience working within a Finance Function.
  • Experience providing front-line financial advice and services is essential.
