Job Opportunity at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are seeking an AAT qualified Accounting Support Specialist to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a part in building the new multi-million pound hospital in Crewe, Cheshire.

This position involves providing specialist support in respect of the growing capital portfolio of the Trust using advanced knowledge and skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing fixed assets, producing annual depreciation values, running monthly depreciation processes, and completing reconciliations for the new hospital spend.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Fixed Asset Management:
    • Update and maintain the Trust Asset Register.
    • Produce annual depreciation values, working with the Management Accounts Team to discuss appropriate levels of revenue budgets.
    • Run monthly depreciation processes within the finance ledger.
    • Complete monthly reconciliations for the new hospital spend.
    • Coordinate the annual revaluation process.
    • Act as main contact for all audits in relation to revaluation, asset register, and leases.
    • Maintain reconciliation of several reserves.
    • Prepare elements of the annual accounts relating to property, plant and equipment.
    • Produce an annual forecast for purchased pieces of equipment expected to be replaced by a lease.
    • Coordinate asset audits.
  • Finance Lease Management:
    • Review proposed new leases to ensure best value and correct accounting treatment.
    • Input new leases into appropriate software to calculate fair value.
    • Ensure accurate split across Finance Lease Creditors, Interest, and VAT.
    • Manually calculate the depreciation for all new finance leases.
  • Capital Scheme Monitoring:
    • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of reports for new hospital capital schemes.
    • Coordinate the quarterly VAT reclaim process for capital programmes.
    • Regularly produce and review purchase order reports charged to Capital Schemes.
    • Ensure that Chief Capital and Strategic Development Accountant receives reported information in a timely manner.
    • Produce and maintain procedure documents for all relevant capital processes.
Requirements:
  • AAT Qualified.
  • Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
  • Previous experience of working within a Finance Function.
  • Able to operate in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Experience of providing front line financial advice and services.
  • Knowledge of NHS financial regime.
Working Conditions:

Full-time, Part-time, Flexible working, Home or remote working

Salary Range:

£28,407 to £34,581 a year, pro rata
