Leicestershire, United Kingdom Leicestershire County Council Full time

About the Role

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a highly motivated and hardworking individual to provide incident resolution, request fulfilment, and local IT support services to our colleagues. You will work as part of a small, friendly technical team providing first-line support to our staff and assisting the technical specialists with upgrades and other projects where required.

This is not a typical high-pressure Service Desk role, so there will be plenty of opportunity to develop technical skills and get involved in a range of work including telephone and desk-side support, user ID administration, equipment configuration and installation, Service Desk development, technical project support, and operational support.

About You

You will need to have experience working in an IT Service Desk environment and have some familiarity with formal IT Service Management Framework processes. NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) or achieved proficiency in SFIA skills at level 2 are also required for this role.

Strong problem-solving skills are a must, and as this is a customer-facing role, you must be personable with strong communication and customer service skills.

To Apply

To be considered for this role, you must have experience of working with technical and professional staff, formal IT service management framework processes, PC installation and refresh, desktop software installation, file and print servers (local and remote), anti-virus administration, and Windows Update Service. We'd also expect you to share and will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the interview process.

What We Offer

  • Flexible working opportunities and access to employee benefits portal with car lease scheme.
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 after 5 years' service), and a scheme to buy additional leave.
  • Local Government Pension Scheme with a generous employer contribution.
  • Opportunities for learning and development.
  • Great office location with free on-site parking and easy access to M1 and M69.

Interested in Flexible Working?

We are keen to support employees to balance their working life with other commitments. Therefore, wherever possible, we will consider working arrangements that suit an individual's personal circumstances whilst still meeting the needs of Leicestershire County Council. If you would like to discuss the possible flexible working options that might be applicable to this role, please contact the person named below. This may include requests for term-time working, part-time hours, compressed hours, flexible start and finish times, home/remote working, etc.
