About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Compassionate Family Support Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our commitment to providing high-quality support to children and families with complex needs.

As a Compassionate Family Support Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based interventions to families, working with issues of conflict and confrontation, and diffusing difficult situations. Your experience in providing direct support in the home will enable you to build trust with families and help them navigate challenging circumstances.

You will also have the ability to identify and deliver appropriate solutions-focused brief therapy, parenting programs, and cognitive behavioral therapy-based approaches. Additionally, you will be knowledgeable about issues that may impact families, such as domestic violence, abuse, mental health difficulties, substance misuse, poverty, and housing.

In this role, you will work proactively with families who may not be willing to engage with services, using a range of techniques to encourage active participation. You will also build professional confidence and resilience, develop good working relationships with families, and communicate sensitively and effectively with children and adults.

Requirements
  • Experience of providing direct support in the home to children and families with complex needs.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is £35,000-£38,000 per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus an excellent benefits package, including a pension scheme, generous annual leave, and access to training and development opportunities.
