Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled occupational therapist to lead our surgical occupational therapy team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The team provides assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for patients admitted to general and specialist surgical wards.

The successful candidate will oversee, coordinate, and develop the surgical occupational therapy service, providing specialist assessment, consultancy, and intervention for patients' occupational needs. They will also provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy, be HCPC registered, and have experience in leading a team and developing services. They will be forward-thinking, identifying areas for service development and projects for their team to complete.

Main Duties of the Job

As the team lead OT, the post holder will:

  • Oversee, coordinate, and develop the surgical occupational therapy service
  • Provide specialist assessment, consultancy, and intervention for patients' occupational needs
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff
  • Maintain a high standard of autonomous working and supervision of others
  • Identify areas for service development and projects for their team to complete
