Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled occupational therapist to join our General Surgical team at the Princess Royal University Hospital. As a team lead, you will work closely with the clinical lead occupational therapist for Trauma & Orthopaedics to provide assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for patients admitted to general and specialist surgical wards.

Main Duties
  • Provide specialist assessment, consultancy, and intervention of patients' occupational needs within the inpatient setting.
  • Carry a caseload of patients with complex health and social care needs using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles.
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff.
  • Maintain a high standard of autonomous working and supervision of others in complex assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Identify areas for service development and projects for the team to complete.
  • Participate in CPD sessions through journal clubs, in-service skills training, and peer support.
