Specialist Support Role:
Are you passionate about working with children and young people with complex needs?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teaching assistant to join our specialist team at an independent special day school.

About the Role:
As a teaching assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism, to achieve their educational and personal goals.

Responsibilities:
• Supporting students in all areas of the curriculum within various learning contexts.
• Helping young people with complex needs to achieve their goals and make progress.
• Creating an inclusive environment that fosters equality and respect for all students.
• Empowering students through support and guidance.
• Developing a deeper understanding of special education issues and values.
• Providing high-quality support in all aspects of the role.

Requirements:
• Ability to work towards formal qualifications and take responsibility for development.
• Compassion and passion for working with children and young people with additional needs.
• Love of outdoor and community learning.
• Ability to see potential in students rather than disability.
• Creative thinking with a solution-focused approach.
• Education to at least level 2 (or equivalent) Maths and English.
