Lead Nurse for Adults with Learning Disabilities

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse to join our team in North Oxfordshire.
This is a Band 5 position, but we encourage candidates who want to progress into a Band 6 role or already have experience in this level.
As a member of our Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), you will work alongside other health professionals to provide person-centered care for adults with learning disabilities.
- Delivering care for adults with learning disabilities
- Collaborating within an MDT to create care plans
- Supporting physical and mental health needs
About the Role
This role offers a diverse opportunity, covering both physical and mental health needs. You will work closely with the Locality Lead Nurse and contribute to care delivery, taking a lead on specific areas.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a complex caseload of patients with learning disabilities
- Conducting comprehensive nursing assessments
- Creating care plans and implementing nursing interventions

Person Specification
Qualifications:
- Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse or RN Adult or RN Mental Health with evidence of knowledge and experience of supporting people with learning disabilities with their health needs.
Knowledge:
- Computer skills including Microsoft systems, electronic patient record systems, virtual consultations.
- Knowledge and experience of a variety of assessments and interventions related to Oxford Health Learning Disability Core business.
- Working knowledge of the application of the NMC Code of Conduct.
- Experience of mentorship in practice and/or management of junior nursing staff.
- Provide clinical supervision.
- Evidence of effective interpersonal skills (active listening, building empathy).
