Role Overview
A strategic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Government Procurement Specialist to join People Source Consulting Ltd (acting as an Employment Business) in a full-time role within the Public Sector.
Key Details
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance and ensuring contractual agreements are fulfilled.
- A competitive daily rate of up to £550 (Inside IR35) is on offer, with multiple extensions expected beyond the initial 5-month contract.
Job Description
This position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with strategic partners. The role involves:
- Leading a team that handles supplier management issues across the Directorate.
- Conducting regular supplier relationship analysis to inform commercial decisions.
- Providing input to tendering activities for key contracts.
- Capturing and reviewing management information, including supplier performance metrics.
- Managing relationships with stakeholders involved in strategic supplier contracts.
- Developing commercial and contract management expertise, with a focus on key obligations and performance standards.
- Making strategic recommendations based on actual performance data.
- Establishing a robust Supplier Relationship Management framework.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. A strong understanding of commercial and contract management principles is also essential.
