About the Opportunity
We are excited to offer a unique opportunity for a recent Criminology graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant. This role provides the perfect chance to gain hands-on experience working with vulnerable children and to apply your knowledge of criminology in a practical setting.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced teachers to provide emotional and therapeutic support to children dealing with childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, attachment disorders, and PTSD. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to ensure the safety and well-being of each pupil.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing emotional and therapeutic support to students with complex mental health needs
- Working collaboratively with teachers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to ensure the safety and well-being of each pupil
- Implementing therapeutic approaches in the classroom to help students develop resilience and engage in their education
What You Will Need:
- A degree in Criminology or a related field (such as Psychology)
- Experience working with vulnerable children (preferably in a school setting)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high level of patience, empathy, and understanding of child development
Salary and Benefits:
£83 - £95 per day (based on experience, training, and qualifications) plus additional benefits.
