About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Manager to join our team at Frontier Agriculture Limited. As a Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the evaluation of cereal, pulse, and oilseed samples for the business, both for the site and ex-farm samples, for the farm trading team. You will also be required to assist the site team in processing vehicle bookings while upholding Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to handle telephone calls proficiently with an assured, professional, and helpful telephone manner
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Ability to work on own initiative, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues
  • An effective team player with a flexible approach to work additional hours at peak season (July-September)
  • A polite, friendly, and professional person who is solution-focused and passionate about getting things right first time despite challenges and obstacles

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Testing and recording of grain samples
  • Operating the weighbridge and sampling equipment to assist the site team as required
  • Training of our temporary staff at harvest
  • Completing and recording relevant tests during the year
  • Complying with all Quality Assurance requirements
  • Ensuring testing of intake and dispatch samples of grain is completed
  • Maintaining the laboratory working environment to a high standard
  • Completing all relevant procedures and checks in a timely manner
