Consultant Paediatrician Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Paediatrician with a strong interest in Paediatric Epilepsy to join our Paediatric team at Kingston Hospital.

This is a full-time position with 10 PAs, offering a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote close working relationships with local primary care providers and the Southwest London Network.
  • Manage a flexible approach to service provision, adapting to changing needs.
  • Collaborate with consultant colleagues, medical staff, and junior doctors to ensure efficient service delivery.

Requirements
  • CCT in Paediatrics and on the GMC's Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT from the date of the interview.
  • Newborn Life Support (NLS) certification.
  • Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) certification.
  • Qualification in Medical Education.
Clinical Experience
  1. Wide range of paediatric experience, including acute paediatrics and neonatology in a tertiary centre at middle grade or above.
  2. Good experience in child safeguarding, serious case review/IMR.
Specific Additional Skills
  1. Competency in Paediatric procedures.
  2. Evidence of specific interest in ambulatory paediatrics and/or neonatology.
  3. Attended management training course.
Experience in Training, Audit and Research
  1. Demonstrable commitment and ability to teach and train undergraduates and junior doctors.
  2. Completed 'Train the Trainers' course or equivalent course in education and training.
Personal Qualities
  1. Demonstrate leadership skills within a multidisciplinary team.
  2. Commitment to continuing professional development and clinical governance.
