Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Locum Consultant Paediatrician at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves providing high-quality paediatric services and working with senior colleagues to shape the future of paediatric services.

Main Duties of the Job

The role includes a 10 PA contract with potential scope for further PA's in the future, subject to job planning. It will also involve on-call commitment for general paediatrics and the neonatal unit, including weekends, for providing an out-of-hours emergency service.

Job Responsibilities

Ability to offer expert opinion & take full & independent responsibility for clinical care of patients across the wide spectrum of paediatric disorders.

Experience of & commitment to teaching undergraduates & postgraduates.

Experience of supervising F1, F2, ST trainees.

Ability to & experience of teaching clinical skills.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Possession of MRCPCH Postgraduate Qualification or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice at time of application

Teaching Experience

  • Experience of supervising F1, F2, ST trainees

Audit and Research Experience

  • Experience of & commitment to clinical audit

Communication

  • Experience of formal presentations
  • Evidence of ability to work as part of a MDT

Clinical Experience

  • Interest and experience in paediatric Rheumatology
