Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our dynamic team at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality physiotherapy care to patients with complex needs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-standard physiotherapy care to patients with complex needs, including adults and paediatrics.
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to share progress and plans of patient care.
  • Supervise students and support staff, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality care.
  • Teach across the department, multidisciplinary teams, and where required, promoting best practices and sharing expertise.
  • Contribute to service evaluation and service development, driving quality improvement initiatives.
  • Deputise for Band 7 when appropriate, demonstrating leadership and management skills.
  • Participate in weekend working and on-call respiratory rosters, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to the team.
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge of medical conditions and their impact on patient functional abilities.
  • Sound knowledge of the physiotherapy process, with a focus on patient-centered care.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge of undertaking research and audit projects, with a focus on improving patient outcomes.
  • Knowledge of current NHS issues, including NSF's and Improving Working Lives.
  • Presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and logically.
  • IT skills, with proficiency in relevant software and systems.
