Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist

We are looking for one full time Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist to join our team.

As a Highly Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist for Achieving for Children you will be confident and competent in the Physiotherapy assessment and management of children and young people between the ages of 0 to 19 years who have neurodevelopmental disabilities. You will have knowledge and expertise in therapy treatment of this client group including use of specialist therapy equipment and you will provide support and line management for lesser experienced staff and students.

This role attracts a market supplement to ensure the salary will be aligned to NHS Band 7.

About the role

As a highly Specialist Neurodevelopmental Paediatric Physiotherapist, you will work in a range of settings as an autonomous practitioner, providing high quality paediatric physiotherapy support to children and young people with disabilities to achieve their potential. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to support children and young people’s gross motor needs and provide specialist advice to other disciplines.

The purpose of this role is to:

Provide a neurodevelopmental paediatric physiotherapy service to children aged 0 to 18 years (and up to 19 years in special schools) who have a range of developmental disorders and neurological disabilities, these children may have complex and/or long term disabilities and additional needs Carry out Physiotherapy assessments and be experienced in the use of relevant standardised assessments and outcome measures Liaise with the multidisciplinary team, families, carers and other professionals to maintain a holistic view of the child or young person. You will work with other relevant professionals to provide the best advice and support Encourage functional independence in relation to gross motor activities through the assessment and prescription equipment and aids as required

About you

To be a part of our Paediatric Physiotherapy Team you will need to be passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. As a Band 7 equivalent Physiotherapist we will expect you to have the following: 

BSc/Msc Physiotherapy degree HCPC registration CSP registration Extensive skills and knowledge of working with children and young people with complex neurodisability such as but not limited to Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, ABI, complex congenital diseases/disorders and Neuromuscular conditions  Excellent ability to plan and prioritise workload and highly skilled in assessment planning, implementing and evaluating treatment, complying with professional and service standards and working as an autonomous practitioner  Able to prepare clearly written reports (including EHCPs) for use by multiple agencies
