Position: Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Specialist
We are seeking a full-time Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Specialist to enhance our dedicated team.
In this role, you will demonstrate confidence and proficiency in assessing and managing the physiotherapy needs of children and young individuals aged 0 to 19 years who present with neurodevelopmental disabilities. Your expertise will encompass therapy treatments for this demographic, including the use of specialized therapeutic equipment, while also offering guidance and supervision to less experienced colleagues and students.
Salary Information

Role Responsibilities
As an Advanced Paediatric Physiotherapy Specialist, you will operate across various environments as an independent practitioner, delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to children and young people with disabilities, empowering them to reach their full potential. You will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to address the gross motor requirements of children and provide specialized insights to other professionals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering a neurodevelopmental physiotherapy service to children aged 0 to 18 years (and up to 19 years in special educational settings) with diverse developmental disorders and neurological disabilities, including those with complex and/or long-term disabilities and additional needs.
- Conducting physiotherapy assessments and demonstrating proficiency in utilizing relevant standardized assessments and outcome measures.
- Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, families, caregivers, and other professionals to maintain a comprehensive understanding of each child or young person. You will work alongside other relevant professionals to provide optimal advice and support.
- Promoting functional independence in gross motor activities through assessment and provision of necessary equipment and aids.
Candidate Profile
To be a valuable member of our Paediatric Physiotherapy Team, you should be dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children and young people. As a Band 7 equivalent Physiotherapist, we expect you to possess the following qualifications:
- BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy
- HCPC registration
- CSP registration
- Extensive experience and knowledge in working with children and young individuals with complex neurodisabilities, including but not limited to Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Acquired Brain Injury, complex congenital disorders, and Neuromuscular conditions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload effectively, along with advanced skills in assessment planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment while adhering to professional and service standards as an autonomous practitioner.
- Capability to prepare clear and concise reports (including Education, Health and Care Plans) for use by multiple agencies.
Benefits
We are committed to fostering a supportive and positive work environment, providing access to a wide array of resources, competitive salaries, and benefits that facilitate hybrid working. Our offerings include:
- 29 days of annual leave, increasing to 33 days after two years and 35 days after four years, with an additional day off during your birthday month.
- Tailored induction sessions starting on your first day.
- Access to Local Government salary and pension schemes.
- Flexible working arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance.
- A comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme.
- A variety of staff benefits and discounts.
- An excellent learning and development program to support your career progression.

We particularly encourage applications from individuals within communities that are currently underrepresented in our teams. Achieving for Children is dedicated to promoting equality and diversity, recognizing that employees from diverse backgrounds contribute positively to our service delivery.
Safeguarding Commitment
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.
