Curriculum Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curriculum Leader to join our team at Newcastle College. As a key member of our curriculum leadership team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our Digital Technologies curriculum.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Head of Curriculum in managing the Digital Technologies section, ensuring alignment with College key performance indicators.
- Line manage direct reports, including programme leaders, lecturers, instructors, and technicians, to ensure high levels of performance within the curriculum area.
- Contribute to College business planning and performance monitoring processes to drive growth and priority areas.
- Liaise with the central Quality unit in all aspects of quality enhancement and self-assessment processes.
- Monitor provision against key performance indicators and benchmarks, implementing improvement plans where necessary.
- Provide support and supervision for specific curriculum areas, ensuring high-quality provision and the maximisation of both physical and human resources.
- Undertake line management of direct reports, ensuring full and effective communication across the Section.
- Contribute to HR processes, such as recruitment and performance management of staff.
- Deputise for the Head of Curriculum as appropriate.
- Demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviours of the organisation.
- Prepare and deliver high-quality learning activities that drive learner progress.
- Design and implement innovative assessment strategies and provide feedback to learners to drive improvement.
- Work proactively to facilitate recruitment to the curriculum area and programme, ensuring the accuracy of public information.
- Manage Digital Apprenticeships (predominantly degree apprenticeships) and Higher Education Programmes to ensure high levels of performance and take responsibility for the apprenticeship journey from sign-up to completion.
- Maintain regular contact with the employers of their apprentices, removing obstacles, tackling difficulties, and providing intervention where issues may arise.
- Support the implementing and embedding of integrated systems to support business processes for apprenticeship delivery, from sign-up to completion, ensuring full compliance across Newcastle College.
- Build a wide stakeholder base of employers throughout the North East and ensure that employer satisfaction with NCG apprenticeships is high through excellent service.
- Participate in any staff review/performance management processes involving the identifying and meeting of training needs for self and others.
- Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the health and safety of self and others.
- Pursue the achievement and integration of equal opportunities throughout all activities.
- Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post.
- Comply with all NCG policies and procedures.
- NCG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment.
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent in a related subject area.
- Qualified teacher status.
- Evidence of relevant updating/CPD.
- If teaching on a higher education programme (Levels 4, 5, 6, or 7), must have or be actively working towards a qualification one level above.
- Management qualification.
- Experience of effective people and performance management.
- Experience of change management and/or implementing new initiatives.
- Experience of building relationships with a range of internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Experience of deploying learning technologies, tracking processes, and use of college monitoring systems to support learners to achieve and progress.
- Experience of curriculum design and innovation, planning, delivering, and assessing.
- Experience and evidence of improving learner success and progression within education against Ofsted common inspection framework and/or HE Quality Code.
- Experience in Digital Technologies.
