Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development and Leadership
Support the Head of Curriculum in the development and implementation of curriculum plans, ensuring alignment with College key performance indicators.
Line Management and Performance MonitoringLead and manage direct reports, including programme leaders, lecturers, instructors, and technicians, to ensure high levels of performance and effective communication across the Section.
Quality Enhancement and AssuranceLiaise with the central Quality unit to ensure effective quality enhancement and self-assessment processes, and monitor provision against key performance indicators and benchmarks.
Curriculum Area ManagementProvide support and supervision for specific curriculum areas, ensuring high-quality provision and the maximization of both physical and human resources.
Recruitment and Performance ManagementContribute to HR processes, including recruitment and performance management of staff, and deputize for the Head of Curriculum as required.
Additional Responsibilities- Digital Apprenticeships and Higher Education Programmes
Manage Digital Apprenticeships (predominantly degree apprenticeships) and Higher Education Programmes to ensure high levels of performance and take responsibility for the apprenticeship journey from sign-up to completion.
Employer Engagement and Stakeholder ManagementMaintain regular contact with employers of apprentices, removing obstacles, tackling difficulties, and providing intervention where issues may arise, and build a wide stakeholder base of employers throughout the North East.
Requirements- Qualified to degree level or equivalent in a related subject area.
- Qualified teacher status.
- Evidence of relevant updating/CPD.
- Management qualification.
- Experience of effective people and performance management.
- Experience of change management and or implementing new initiatives.
- Experience of building relationships with a range of internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Experience of deploying learning technologies, tracking processes, and use of college monitoring systems to support learners to achieve and progress.
- Experience of curriculum design and innovation, planning, delivering, and assessing.
- Experience and evidence of improving learner success and progression within education against Ofsted common inspection framework and or HE Quality Code.
- Experience in Digital Technologies.
