The Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell is an internationally renowned centre at the forefront of genetics research.

As a key member of our Operations Team, you will have the opportunity to join us in the role of Event Coordinator for Scientific Events and contribute to delivering world-class practical and theoretical training courses.

The Advance Training Centre has been purpose-built to provide a unique environment for hosting symposia, networking meetings, and workshops. With a capacity to accommodate up to 100 people per week, this facility offers ample opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a background in events management and marketing. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing event services bookings, including event planning, on-the-day support, delegate registration, health and safety, catering, and transport.

You will also be required to line-manage one Advance administrator, providing training in events management and supporting them in their daily tasks.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess high-level project management and organisational skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should also have a strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure seamless execution of events.

A key aspect of this position is the opportunity to develop and implement innovative marketing strategies, using data analytics and customer feedback to inform future event planning decisions.
