Job Title: Events and Marketing Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Events and Marketing Manager to join our team at the Medical Research Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our training centre, including event planning, marketing, and customer service.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Project manage event services bookings, including event planning, on-site support, delegate registration, health and safety, catering, and transportation.
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the training centre, reporting any defects to ensure a quick resolution and minimizing the impact on events.
  • Plan and coordinate events, including room setup, equipment movement, and furniture arrangement to meet visitor requirements.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance in all correspondence and maintain accurate records.
  • Line manage and support one Advance administrator, training them in events management.
  • Develop and coordinate marketing materials, including brochures and promotional materials, to publicize existing courses and increase stakeholder engagement.
  • Use data analytics and customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies and event planning decisions.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, raise orders, and invoices, and work with managers to ensure budgetary requirements are met.
Requirements:
  • A background in events management and marketing.
  • Essential skills include project management, organizational skills, communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and networking skills.
  • Desirable skills include experience in scientific academic requests, BTEC (HNC/D) or equivalent in events management, and BTEC (HNC/D) or equivalent in marketing.
Working Relationships:

The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external users of our training centre resources.
