Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Marketing and Events Manager to join our team at the Mary Lyon Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the Advance training centre, ensuring it is fully utilised and providing world-class services to our customers.

Main Duties/Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage event services bookings, including event planning, on-the-day support, delegate registration, health & safety, catering, and transport.
  2. Day-to-day management of the Advance facility, reporting any defects and ensuring a quick resolution to minimise the impact on events.
  3. Room planning, movement of equipment, and furniture to meet visitors' requirements and best use of available space.
  4. Ensure GDPR compliance in all correspondence.
  5. Line management and support for one Advance administrator, training them in events management.
  6. Coordinate and develop brochures/marketing material to publicise existing courses and increase stakeholder engagement.
  7. Use data analytics and customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies and event planning decisions.
  8. Report on the financial accounts, raise orders, invoices, and ensure budgetary requirements are met.

  • A background in events management and marketing.

Previous Work Experience Required:

  • Has worked within a customer-focused environment.
  • Hands-on approach in an event management environment delivering on stakeholder requirements and dealing with requests and changes efficiently.
  • Line management experience of a small team.
  • Experience of raising orders, invoices, and working with a finance focus.
  • Organisation of the daily requirements of a building, reporting faults, providing information on grounds requirements, and looking for improvements in recycling and sustainability.
