Haas F1 Team is seeking an experienced Car Performance Developer to join our team in the USA. The estimated salary for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities:

This role involves developing mathematical models and algorithms to improve car performance. As a key member of the Mathematical Modelling Team, you will work closely with engineers to identify performance strengths and weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.

  • You will help to identify performance strengths and weaknesses and opportunities for improvement, to guide both car design and trackside operations.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of rigid/flexible body kinematics/dynamics theory, standard simulation workflows, modern software development techniques, vehicle engineering processes, contributors to vehicle performance, and modern racing car design/architecture.
Requirements:

We are looking for a candidate with a BSc in Mathematics, Computational Mechanics, or another STEM subject, and substantial experience in applied mathematics (e.g., physics, DAEs, linear and non-linear systems/solvers, or numerical methods in optimization/optimal control). An MSc/PhD is preferred.

  • At least 3 years' experience in motor racing, or in mainstream automotive, vehicle dynamics/simulation/control is desirable.
  • A robust technical background in applied mathematics, physics, or engineering, ideally around automotive/aeronautical/racing applications.
